Definition

The thermal conductivity is the physical measure, which defines the amount of heat transferred through a normal, flat surface to the temperature gradient vector for its value 1 reported to the time it (heat) is transported.

1 watt per metre kelvin is the thermal conductivity of the environment, for which, in a steady service, with a surface density of 1 watt per square meter, it is set a temperature gradient equal to 1 kelvin per meter.
