Volume, capacity

Definition

The volume, capacity is the physical measure, which defines the property of an object to be three-dimensional, i.e. extension along three perpendicular axes on which its length, width and height are measured (all the three dimensions being, actually, length values). Otherwise defined, the volume of a body is the place it occupies in space.

1 cubic metre is defined as the volume of a cube whose sides are 1 metre.
