The area of equilateral triangle

Definition:

The equilateral triangle is a variety of scalene and isosceles triangle, which is characterized by the congruence (equality) of all its sides and angles.

The area of equilateral triangle by side (base) and height, is determined by the classical formula for a triangle – half product of base and its height.

The area of equilateral triangle by side, is determined by a modified version of the formula for right triangle – half product of the base and its height, deducted by one of congruent sides as hypotenuse.
